Dude, damn awesome

This reeks of quality right from the start. Its got a really spot-on club feel to it from the get-go. Very nice break into the kick and the filter rhythm. Arp filtered in very well. Are you being taught by Oakenfold on the side?
Its rare to hear such clarity in a piece of music, the mix cannot be faulted. I wish mine sounded more like this!
Spot on cymbal crash into the filtered chords. Now, thats classic! I know its not doing anything new but its so well produced I don't care. Excellent build-up, the snare rolls building tension excellently, do I detect a hint of flanging? Sehr gut. And no-one in Europe is not going to love the progression that follows. Really, really excellent. Up there with the worlds best in my opinion.
Nice outro.
Dude, this is some of the finest trance I've ever heard. Sure its commercial, but there's nothing at all wrong with that. It makes me really happy.
You've got a strong future in this for sure!

By the way -----> Sorry I took so long getting back to you by the way. I've had some other issues. Exams are over now so I expect you to keep me posted about your latest tracks. I wouldn't miss them for the world.

Keep it up! This ones up there with the best.

The-XI responds:

Thank you! And thats a nice idea, a flanger on the master channel on the beats before the buildup... *schemes* lol
Its not a flanger man, its a notch filter. It gives a nice little 'space like' feel. You should try using it sometime =)

Thank you for the review, and its god to see that your exams are finally over... mine were done with a week ago =P

Good sounds

Dude, it sounds like the orchestra gets abducted by aliens halfway through the concert. There's some manic fx there for an orchestral piece. This would suit a horror soundtrack I guess.
If you stuck a phat hiphop loop over the top it might be a hit with those orchestral stabs over the top. Then just get JayZ to spit some rhymes over the top ;)

Battle coming.

Very creative filtering at the start, gives the track a nice submerged quality. I like the beat a lot, nice and heavy, kind of like the warring armies rolling all their war machines into place. Nice distortion on the beat later, I'm definately liking it, a nice contrast to the peacefully ominous patterns playing with it at higher pitch.
Well produced song, I like it!

Homermon responds:

I REALLY appreciate the comment thx! :)

Powerful

Righteous bass, sounds like a Minimoog on steroids. Me likes..:)
Very strong, driving rhythm as well. Its more of a loop than a song though, it would be cool if you had some kind of lead come in at the end over the top. Although the bass is strong enough to kind of carry the track by itself.
Good sound choices, and good song.

Great

Cool track dude, you've got a lot of nice elements. The synth bells at the start didn't really fit the energetic mood of the track, but I was rockin when that that bass dropped. Nice gritty guitar synth and when you step up the bass it sounds awesome, a little like a Daft Punk track.
The arp is another nice element, great acid bass a bit later. You like a fusion of sounds i see, and it holds together well. The only problem I can see with the track is the drumloop. Everything else seems to drown out your rhythm a bit, and thats really important.
Oh yeah, nice tribute to Daft Punk's One More Time at the outro :)

Chloroform responds:

thanks very much, although (as i said in the comments of the track), a lot of these sounds (not all of them, the bells, drums, and some other things are not) are already made loops that i mixed when i was bored, i would have submitted something more original, but i dont have them saved as mp3s :(

thank you for you review

-Chloroform?-

Great acid.

Very catchy track as usual.
The big thick synth kick and snare at the end was sounding great to my ears, and thats some pretty unique jazz styling you introduce after. I was missing some bass for this last section. I guess it was just the outro though, so its not essential.
Nice thick pumping drumloops and the acid was delicious. Just one thing, it feels like the loops are slightly different lengths or are a bit too short or something, because there's a bit of an awkward delay at the end of the loops.
Anyway. Nice work!

ZehPhantom responds:

Yep , they are a bit too short =(
Lol u like the jazzy part? i thought it was a big mistake =P
Thanks for the positive review!

Nice

Well, its simple, but it sounds great. Very fine keyboard playing as usual. Wish i could comment on the song more, but you're not giving us much to work with ;) Exceedinly nice chord progressions, kind of contemplative and hopeful.
Keep it up dude.

By the way, I was wrong about other sites being more promising, garageband.com is a bit of a joke to be honest. Newgrounds is a good place to share music.

Whats the play about?

WinTang responds:

Thanks mate, good to see you still favor the old NG clique :)
Glad you liked it so much.
The play is about three people on an island. They need to take some kind of initiative in order to leave, but they can't find the right thing to do because they keep annoying each other instead of teaming up.
This tune would play to indicate that a certain amount of time passes.

Very smooth...Mr Wintang

Man how I love jazz... I could listen to this stuff all day long. That is a wicked rhodes tone, I don't know why it sounds so damn awesome in the lower octaves, the texture becomes grainy or something?
I'm damn impressed with your keyboard skills, you've got some moves, thats for sure! I would do anything to have such command of chords, very nice improvisation, I loved that ascending sequence! Its jazz, so I don't know if you wanted to do those occasional doubled notes that sounded quite atonal.
I can definitely see the same style at work as the organ solo in Hitler hacks Linux. Very, very good stuff.
Have to say that ride cymbal got a little tiring, as much as I love ride cymbals. Some splashes might liven it up in the percussion department. I like the sidestick snare, its pretty far back in the mix though, but for all I know thats how its done in jazz, so don't take me too seriously here :)

Anyway, I enjoyed it. Think I'll download. Keep it cool Mr Jazz Man.

WinTang responds:

Cheers!
Yeah, jazz is my excuse for sloppy playing :)
This is not finished, so I'll make the drums a bit more interesting in the next version. Thanks for that tip.

Nice job

Hey nice song, that synth playing the repetitive progression sounds dream-like and gentle. I like the electronic pad that comes in later. Gives a nice rich sound. i'm liking the kick in this one, and the rapid shaker pattern creates a satisfying rhythm.
Gets unusual at the end, I like it..sounds darker, like the dream is becoming a nightmare! Nice fx at the conclusion.
Keep it up!

zerofalse responds:

thx, glad you liked it though =) yeah, i tryed to do some cool stuff with the effects to make this song a bit more interesting anyway, thanx for the review!
peace

What I think is..

This is a really great track! I like the tone and rhythm of the bass, and the synths are playing a very catchy melody, the groove is nicely chilled. Definately a trance clap there on the off-beat, no doubt about it! Interesting combination..

The track develops really well. Wow, those strings sound very impressive, reminds me of Moby. They really fill the mix out nicely, it sounds really amazing! Harmonizes beautifully with the electronic lead. In my opinion, it wanted to just fade out, the sudden cymbal crash is a bit..well...sudden :)

Overall, great track!

Check out my ambient if you have some time, I'd appreciate it.
