Love the glitch`

Top track PedroMancuso, this is exactly the type of music I like hearing. Great haunting ambience to begin with, the plucked sound was very pleasing. The beat is very well mixed when you drop it, really binds the whole composition together. Ahh, nice little fill there. I like that sound thats kind of taking on the role of the pedal hi-hihat, but it sounds a bit sick, which is awesome.
The synth part is awesome. That roll at the end of the sequence works really well. The next section has be biting my nails in suspense. Nice stuttered drums leading into the rhythm solo with the eerie pad.
Very very good stuff...I just felt like a couple of sudden impacts would be the icing on the cake.

ta,

Wow

There's some magic here. The sax chaos really appeals to me. Is it a virtual instrument or samples I wonder?
I really love it when the big, languid phasered beat drops in. Sounds psychadelic.
This is definately one of the highest quality alternative songs I've heard around the joint.
Woah, thats a classy outro. Well, I thought it was going to end on the distortion...but here we have a duet! Very unexpected, and this beat is a massive change from the rest of the piece. To be honest, I think this conventional beat ruins to some extent all your wonderful first half. I would have liked that to be the whole track.
There's the exit, nice sax solo! ;)
You rock dude, and as a sax player myself, massive kudos...

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

cheers mate,
the sax was played by my buddy george. i got an alto the other day but am still learning, can't wait to start recording some.

Me likes, me dont lies

Well, whats not to like? Cant say no to the glitch. I see this as good music for either a spy movie, a puzzle game, or 'The Sims - Insane Asylum'.
Keep it caffeinated LJCoffee.

LJCoffee responds:

Spy movie eh? I imagine that it could be used as menu music for something... Not a lot of my stuff gets used so I 'm not really holding my breath - we'll see...

Glad you liked it!

Nice

This is top stuff for what it was, a down-tempo beats driven track. Nice progressive flavour thats nicely stripped back. The keys before the drop out and build back out are very sweetly mixed. Some of the clicky percussion is a little disconcerting at first, but it does grow on you to tell the truth.
I like the progressively pitched down perc. used as fills.
Overall, a great track, but perhaps a little bit too stripped back for its own good. I would have liked a few more surprises. Thats what would really do it for me here.
Keep it up!

sweet loop!

Nice loop..It could be good for a computer game like the Sims. It actually reminds me a bit of the music from a nintendo jetski game I once played :)

Very good

Nice ambient track here. The highlight for me is definitely the glitchy breaks towards the end. The initial melody is very captivating, I think its spoiled a little by the little organ riff that chimes in every now and then. Mysterious overdriven vocal, nice!
This is an enjoyable listen, keep up the good work!

P.S Are you using Native Instruments software?

StrangeEncounters responds:

Thanks for the positive review. Native Instruments? Nah. Reason. I'm trying to get a hold of Battery 2 because IT KICKS SO MUCH ASS. :D

Top notch

Hey man, I'm glad I stopped by your page. This sounds great. Great vocal sample, adds depth to the composition. The first eerie synth playing the wavering notes reminded me a lot of a song from the Computer Music or Future Music 'best of Unsigned' collection. Would you have a track on there by any chance?
Its possible its just the same type of tone.
Anyway, the percussion is sparse but highly effective and the pads sound very good to my ears. I like the glittery pad in the second half, very lunar! I think the subdued bass underneath works nicely to provide stability to the track.
Keep it up man.

StrangeEncounters responds:

Hey man, thanks alot. Congrats on Weekly top 5th. That song killzone was killer. Anyways. Reviews mean alot to me. Thanks.

Anthemic

Another quality track XI. At first it seems to be a little slow for the style, but it actually suits very well. The chord progressions all work really well. The bass is kicking! I love the bass in this one, really clubworthy.
I thought the buildup with the arp was a bit too short, but you continue the fine chord progressions following in great style. Sounds like Tiesto.
Great, solid kick in this one, which by the way I think was a bit off in your remix of 'Poison'. Stick this kick in it and you'd have a winner!
Keep up the great work man.

A sad day

This place won't be the same with you MaestroSorrow. Your influence here has always been the highest class of positive, with the quality of your music, and the quality of your critiques for others locked in the struggle to create better music.
This track is another in your line of extremely well constructed, professional tracks and as usual, doesn't fail to hit the mark.
Good luck in the future.

MaestroSorrow responds:

Thank you dj_padman1. I hope during my stay I have helped some people. If I altered one persons attitude towards their ability, then I personally feel it was worth it.

Thanks again for the review ^^.

Intense

Hey man, you speak my language. The drums in this one are seriously slammin' and I'm seriously reminded of Squarepusher at times. I love where the track goes. I reckon the last half is definately stronger than the first.
I think the first synths don't suit the track too well, a bit 'Fruity', no offence. The high arp continues quite consistently into the track, i don't know..it just didn't sit well with me. It has a very nice flow in the techno flavoured follow-up and the intense beats work really well with this. When you introduce the big rolling, greasy bass later on it gives it more of an underground flavour and I really dig it! Those stuttered synth stabs are more like it to. Good stuff!

TheComet responds:

Thanks, always great to get reviews from you, always constructive and in depth :)
I didn't like the start too much either, but I didn't want to go straight into the full beat right away or the song would get repetitive and boring near the middle
