super

Great trance track mate. You've got a really good feel for progression and structure and the chord progressions sound epic as anything!
The kick has that good solid 'thwop' to it, so I can't really see why people wouldn't approve of it..I mean, its melodic trance right? You don't want to drown the track. Very nice harmonizations with the pads, great energy with the hats. One thing I think would take it up to a new level would be a bit more detail at the transitions. i reckon some more involved snare rolls would really rock.
I was thinking the offbeat wanted more punch, and you brought that clap in just in time, nice one!
Well, I think you've made Darren Tate proud, keep it up dude !

Rave4Yourself responds:

Yes, I guess it is melodic trance. I don't need a big thumping kick, it will drown out the entire song, which is not what I want. The melody is the main element and er, um, yeah. of this song.

Darren Tate has some PIMPIN songs, um.

check IT. Yeah, thanks for the review, i reved some of your stuff too. PS hey.

really good

Really nice work here. The arps are the best part of the track I reckon, but the structure in general works really well. I like the sustained bass and the pads you bring in really help to make a large, spacious, complete sound!
Well done!

Smooth

Nice one Wintang, very smooth and the keys sound superb.
Drifts along very pleasantly and I'm digging the stripped down half time sounding rhythm. Very nice guitar, its understated but fits the mood of the track perfectly.
I LOVE the jazzy switch before the sine lead. Tasty lead btw, classic. This could fit very nicely as one of the much better tracks on the weather station or some documentary about flying hot air balloons or something. :)
Ooh, more nice keys to follow! I think I can sense the wonderful grandeur of a Rhodes!
Nice WinTang, nice...!

WinTang responds:

Thanks a lot! Yay, 10 for clarity!! I've been wrestling with the mix of this for ages... reverbs kept clashing and stuff like that :S
Hahaha the hot air balloons statement cracked me up. This track was great fun to make and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

nice one

Tasty man..tasty! Like the vocal transition heaps and that bouncy snare sequence when you drop in the acid is really cool! Really nice groove to it, and those pads at the break work well. I don't know why you took them away though when you brought back the acid, would have been cool if they worked together.
Nice one man, but you gotta hit us with a full track next time :)

cornandbeans responds:

I was thinking about extending it... of course, me and XI might give another collab a go soon, and you know how amazing he is at goa. ;)

cool

Hey, sounds cool. I like the square wave pattern bubbling away. It sounds a little bit sharp, maybe some reverb would be nice?
The beat is much better in this one compared to the other track of yours I heard. Nice solid kick gives good punch to the track. It also seems to clip at times, watch those volume levels! Digital distortion is not our friend.
Keep going!

some good ideas

Some of those melodies were cool, but they are fighting for space sometimes, and are interfering with each other. Keep it simple is my advice. The beat was a bit hard to make out. When you make a song, try and get the beat really strong to give the listener something to not their head to. It's techno I guess, so put in a nice 4 beat kick pattern, might help.
Keep trying!

Etcho responds:

THANKS FOR THE INPUT. I TRY TO KEEP IT SIMPLE BUT IT SOMETIMES GET LOST IN SCALE.. THNAK FOR THE ADVICE.

Nice work!

Great dance spirit here. It definitely has the pulse you would want from a dance track.
The melody that you bring in the end is truly great, I dig it a lot, but let me be frank here...the euro gate is a bit of a no no...I dont know, other people might like it a lot, and indeed you hear it heaps of tracks, but thats the thing, you hear it in heaps of tracks! Mess with it more, maybe change the gate settings to give it more of a personal STATIC flavour!
Nice build up, but I hear some clipping, watch out! Even the slightest bit of resonance can really kill you in a filter sweep like that.
You've got the right foundation for a great track here, keep going!

vwvSTATICvwv responds:

Another great review! Thank you.

I have a lot of questions for you that unfortunately you cannot answer here, so I will PM you.

Cool

Nice progressive flavour and the variety of sounds and variations is really cool. Some of the syncopated percussion I really dug. Congratz man, the only thing I think let down the track a bit was the kick. It didn't seem low and boomy enough. Keep it up. This has got my 5 for sure.

Chromatronic responds:

Thx for the 5. Appreciate it.

Nice work

You know, its a nice song, I enjoy it. But what is up with your attitude? That your audience are 'dicks' if they criticize it. News flash buddy, tracks can suck that the author spent months on. So my advice would be to be a little bit more respectful to your audience and at least pretend to have a slight amount of humility.

Overall, great atmosphere and everything works together nicely. Ever heard the track L'Annonce des Couleurs by Mac Zimms? Pretty well known trance anthem. The chord progression is mightily similar.

Keep it up!

PERVOK responds:

Oh pff. You should know by now that im not serious about anything i say XD I could call you a penis, and not mean it.

And no, I haven't heard that song. I should though, eh? :)

Oh, and : Penis.

A taste of the orient

Lets take a look! You've established yourself as a bit of an acid technician, because you're always doing it really well. The lo-fi bass you bring in later works well to keep the momentum alive.
As usual, your breaks are awesomely produced. I wish I knew how to get such variety and motion in my beats. Are you using the Dr. Rex lane thingie to trigger segments of a sample in Reason? I used the program briefly a while ago. It was damn cool, much faster workflow than Live.
Anyway, feel free to keep your trade secrets clandestine...!
The track seemed to stall at a couple of junctions, nothing severe, just an inkling of a thought. I kept thinking maybe some delicious pads would really suit a track like this.
Oh yeah, the flute was awesome. Gave a lot of life to the track. Can't beat that kind of expression sometimes.

P.S Can you give some clues how you got such cool glitches and edits at the end of 'SkatMunchingTerroristBreak'? I'm beggin' ya man!
