Wow..thats great

Killer drum 'n' bass track. I'm really digging it!
Excellent variations and plenty of twists and turns to keep me hooked. Nice use of the 'vocal sample' in there...sounds familiar :)

I'm curious, mind sharing with us what program you use, and which you use to get those phat basses?

Keep up the great work.

Synkon responds:

Thanks, all done in fl studio.

Try messing around with EQ and Compressor.
If youre not too familiar with FL, just use the presets. Hope it helped

Good effort

You know this track is really cool! The vocal is really impressive, very catchy.

The problem is with the bass. For a start, its off key with the rest of the track. And the sound is really bright and high. If it was low and dirty, this would could actually pump in a club. It kind of spoils the potential of the track, the bass.
Work on getting the bass to flow with the vocal, and this is a winner.
Nice transitions and various delayed elements. I like the lead a lot in the second half of the track after the female vocal phrase.
Again, the bass doesn't do the track any favour here.
Keep it up, I see a lot of potential here.

Sweet track

Sweet drumloop and fills in this one dude, overall the progression was awesome. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed but it was really satisfying when the whole force of the song hit me.
I agree with the last reviewer, the buildup was very well done. All the elements came together tastily. Nice thick bass at the drop.
The thing I think you should steer clear from is that 'Newgrounds lead'. Jungle/d'n'b wants a raw and savage sound. I think the sound choice here for the lead was a bit mistaken.
But for the sound you chose, you used it really well. Nice stutters at the transitions, and nice volume automation to the track at times to build suspense and create interest.
Keep it up! Get dirty....4 this time.

PERVOK responds:

Yeah... my original intent for a lead was a thick 303 like sound that is horribly detuned. It sounded amazing, but I just changed it... dunno why. I should change it back :)

Thank you!

Ooh

Nicely distorted and gritty. Feels a bit overcompressed at times. The bass frequency melody is pure madness. Sounds like the devil with a really bad hangover stumbling home to the 7th circle.
Good solid beat. I kind of lost the kick due to the compression though. The bass playing at the same time as the kick no doubt had some impact on how the overall mix was treated by the compressor.
Lots of low frequency elements here create an enjoyably chaotic mix!

Mynewaccountis-OCON responds:

lol, well that's a new way to look at it XD. I'm glad u liked it though man, and I really appreciate the review! And this one had like 3 kicks, but not of them were very heavy to start with anyway lol, so I do suppose the compresser just kinda fucked it over =\... o well, what's done is done =) thank you so much for the review, and all of the constructive feedback!

Classic

Has a nice vintage progressive techno feel to it. The kick sounded bang on to my ears, I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about, still music is very subjective I guess!
The beat is really basic but it works. Good fills, and the bass-line is pretty common, but fits well.
I think the Sytrus lead you bring in is a bit loud, the chorus/phaser you put on it works well though. Goes with the bell melody nicely!
Good track overall, a nice mix.

Mynewaccountis-OCON responds:

Thanks man, the Sytrus was meant to be loud though, but not too loud to cover the vocals in my vocal version, glad u liked it though man! And thanks for your review!

Woah!

What a club-worthy intro! Very atmospheric, i'm getting the chills as we speak. Nice fade in of the strings and you introduce a good thick bass. The acid fits the tone of the track well, original rhythm of it too. Hmmm, about the thick bass, I have a few personal prejudices against the use of the off-beat bassline but it makes the track pump here no doubt about it!
Nice crunchy snare and good fills at the end of the sections. The kick is REALLY NICE, you've got it working there perfectly, and I'm not just saying that.
Great production, you ease it down at all the right times, it shows class. Extra elements used well to maintain interest.
Excellent hats, you've just introduced a ride cymbal and the new string section has faded in, I'm liking this! Damn, it ended too soon! I was hoping for some extreme, distorted synth battles as a mightly conclusion. Dreams..
You do this very well my friend..My hat goes off to you.

The-XI responds:

And I take your hat away from you forever =D

Thanks for the long review, as usual!

I reckon.........

This one has more potential. It sounds more original and polished. I'm loving the bass in this one, and the low strings/pads later are really epic, you'd expect to hear them in a movie. No, it cuts out! Damn.
I reckon you could do something wicked with this one, it definately gets my vote.

i2abbitz responds:

yea, i like the strings in this one

Nice work here

Cool song! I hear some people say it would be a good victory song, I would just add that the chord progression sounds a bit melancholy and contemplative at the end, almost as if the victory has come at a huge price..
I like the synths you've chosen, that lead synth gets it done, its a surefire Newgrounds kind of synth for sure! Nice arp, harmonizes very well with the rest.
Bit of a problem with the huge kick though, its distorting a bit, which may be what you intend, I'm not sure. But the main issue is thats its drowning out your righteous bassline, thats a crime dude :)
Get that part of the mix sorted, and this one would rise to a new level I reckon. Maybe some fx sprinkled around the place would be nice too.

i2abbitz responds:

yea i noticed after i submitted how the kicks were.. i put some headphones on and it cracked a good bit.. my speakers suck... i should invest in some bad ass ones.. thanks for the review padman!!

Robot Rocking

Nice underground sound here!

Sounds a bit like Chemical brothers. I love the vocal synth, its a bit hard to understand the words, actually, impossible! But the sound of it still sounds cool. Oh wait, there's the full sentence. Some kind of robot work-out video? :)

The background synths do a good job to keep the track flowing along energetically and they are well mixed. I thought a bit more hi-hat action would be nice, they seem a bit quiet in the mix.

Keep it up! You make a very good atmosphere here.

DrClay responds:

sweet
i just did this cuz i was bored...
lol
but now i might make a beta version if i can....

thanks for the review
good luck with your stuff

Well done

This would work well as background music in a game.
Sounds like you really know how to harmonize all those orchestral sounds. Oboes (err..bassoon, french horn?), violins, pianos, they're all working together very nicely.
Only when you bring in the violin/viola later at the same time as the piano, the strings are a bit loud. Its drowning out your other sounds a little.
Sounds good, my only other dislike was the piano seemed a bit mechanical in its timing.
Keep it up! I can see great things coming from you.

The-Objekt responds:

Thanks man i've been wanting to do this track ever since i was a kid and i beat zelda dx on my gbc. Thanks.

_objekt_
p.s. It was a bassoon and yeah the piano is a little off beat.
