rockin

Nice one man, you've got some delicious hardcore elements in there. I'm loving the 303, always works well in these kinds of tracks. Build-up is exceptional with the cool crashes and atmospheric hits. Bringing in that second melody, and third! synth to back up the 303 rhythm was really effective. Interesting melodic switch at the end, hehe...nice vocal, shows you have a sense of humour!

Rave4Yourself responds:

lol, Thanks man. I appreciate it, :D

Wow, this track got lots more attention than I'd have expected it to get. **dances** lol.

Thanks for the review once again. I sort of made this as a potential "goodbye" track, 'cuz FLing during school will most likely very much kill my grades, and I really don't want that. :O

anyways, tahnks man. Lol, i like the voxor too, :P

Super!

Man, awesome track, you got the mix just right. I love it when it kicks into high gear with that beautiful thick pad/superstring synth playing. Really superb. Nice, nice..I love it lots!
Hmm..you reckon this is happy hardcore? Sounds like epic trance to me...Happy hardcore is intentionally cheesy and childish isn't it? Well, I don't claim to be an expert on genres..

Great track mate ;)

its a website. its a radio. go to it.

and listen to the happy hardcore on there. its in no way cheesy, although sometimes the mixes are a BIT cheesy. But afterwards its AMAZING, the melodies are eargasmic.

Anywho, thats what i tried to make.

listen to di.fm.

great effort

I thought I reviewed this before! Ok, this is another good effort. The ambience with the pads is very well done, and that kind of texture can carry through a whole track easily because there's so much motion in it. Nice thick drumloop, couldn't be better, and once again, you have a very good shaker pattern going on.
Hmm..that lead sound, it seems a little bit bright and happy for the track? I can imagine something a little bit more fractured and broken really working well, or even the ethnic strings you like to put in your tracks. That might really suit.
Very good foundation though. Keep making music, you must!

acid = tasty

You've got a couple of newies, I need to keep closer tabs. I really love it when you make the beat more complex, and bring in the pad to go with the piano riff. Yes!! That acid part is the stuff of dreams, no! you ended it too quick. I can imagine a massive Hoover down low tearing the place apart. gotta love that distorted acid sound, it felt like when you took the foot off the gas with the drumloop for a bit at the end, it was preparing us for some massive drop. This one is wicked, you have to finish it!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

haha, that made me laugh. acid synths are so much fun! splagawaga is a bit more pro with em, i just chucked in random filter tweaks. yeh, i really need to finish this.

Quality +

Man, that guitar is just beautiful, I could listen to that all day. You could easily make a whole track based around just that progression I reckon. Sounds like a flute too, nice, nice! Bass comes in, excellent bass. Very nice whistly pad.
Classic Ped changeup! Love that acidy bass, sounds like there's a bit of reverb or chorus on it, suits the vocals I guess, gives it a nice grimey yet slightly disconnected feeling. Good insistent quality to the vocals. Digging the phat beat. Hmmm..bit of a pop or something in the drumloop? A little distracting.
Ya know, this is your most pro track I've heard I think. definitely one of your best mate!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

hey pad, thanks. one of my best? hmmm... wasn't sure about it, was pretty rushed.
yeh, was a pop on the recording of the beat.

Hold the phone....

Maestro is in the house!
Woah, stellar comeback man, this is a great track on many levels. Excellent energy with the timpani and tribal percussion, congas? The melody takes its place beautifully in the arrangement, excellent choir parts, those really make this one stand out as pro sounding. Those low brass blasts, french horns? not too certain, I'm an amateur when it comes to the orchestra, give a delicious, intense feeling.
Hmm...I would love to hear the tribal percussion drop out a little earlier than it did, it seems to be played out a little by the end, the 'thwack' sound is quite prominent in the mix. It's minor I know, take it with a pinch of salt.
Anyway, bottom line, topclass effort, one of your best, if not the best.
Keep pushing for glory.

MaestroRage responds:

I understand fully dj_padman1, those congo drums, are so damn hard to work with. I literally created 5 different loops for it, and if you listen closely they do morph, but unfortunately that "thwak" was the one sound that didn't seem to want to go away >:(. Removing it also seemed to leave a gaping hole, so I was in a pinch! Damn those lovable and pleasant congo drums!

Still I know what you mean, and in the future i'll know what to do. This was honestly my first attempt at using congo drums, and i'm very impressed with the power and emotions they portrayed in the song, I assume I will be using them a fair deal as time goes by.

Thanks for the review dj_padman1, always a pleasure to read from a friend ^^.

sweet!

Woah, nice one mate. Full marks on the awesome drums and the variety of percussion sounds scattered throughout the track. That is one epic bass sound, I would really like to hear it cranked up more, then I'd probably give this one straight ten's, just cause it would rock so hard. The higher synth seems to overpower the track a little, thats my only gripe.
Watch the ending too, bit sharp.
Good to see the numbers in the d'n'b category go up, keep makin' em!!

AphelionX responds:

^.^ thanx i kinda rushes myself at the ending that was my mistake but i think it turned out well thanx for the comment

funkalicious

Hey, good funky track! I'm not such a big fan of the electric guitar, sounds a bit cheap, but that bass is funky as hell! Gotta love that riff. Nice, chunky drumloop as well, nice one man. Maybe wanted to have a bit more going on if you wanted it to be a complete song, but for a groovy loop, its really effective. I can imagine some funky wah wah guitar and some brass instruments going off in this one!

DarkHelmet21 responds:

Glad you liked it. It does seem that the electric guitar is a bit stand outish. I'll see what I can do about that.

nice one

Wow, your sister has made an excellent tune, it kept me company for quite some time while I was browsing the net! Its got a nice amount of emotion and subtlety that make it a very enjoyable listen. Very well put together! Seemed like some of the strings have a bit too sharp of a release, thats the only thing that bothered me, but didn't take away from the quality of the composition at all. Very good piano parts.

DarkHelmet21 responds:

My sister thanks you for your comment and she hopes to make more some time.

sounds pleasant

Nice one, the sounds themselves are really rich and alive, and the harmonies are nice and develop well. A have a bit of an issue with the clarity though, it seems to be distorting, in particular on the left, unless my speakers are broken!
I can imagine some sweeping strings really making this one complete.
Keep up the good work!

Sakano responds:

huh...doesn't do that on my compy...oh well ^^
