cool

Cool track I really like this one!

The dissonant piano works well to create tension and you've got some cool energetic beats in there.
Keep up the good work!
Great string work too, I'm impressed.

ridin low

I'm not much of a hiphop kind of guy, so unfortunately I cant offer any skilled opinion but the beats in this one are really solid and catchy. I really like the hihat rhythm, 32nd notes? And the sub-bass is a cool feature!
I remember I heard a Dr Dre song called Dopeman, that whistle from the intro in this song would sound damn awesome I reckon. Hey, like I said, I know nothing about hiphop!!
Cya man..good luck with the finished version.

Damn cool track man..It sounds like a really banging club track. The only thing I would say is that the beats want to be a bit more full frontal. Then it'd really be smoking!
Keep up the good work man. Remember, NG is watching you.

needs a few touchups

You've got the right idea. But there's some problems with the pitch. The bass it too low, and the vocals are a bit messed up.
A clap on the offbeat would be nice too man!

cool

yeah man, thats drum and bass alright!
Possibly breakbeats, like what Prodigy would make, because its a little bit slower than usual d 'n' b.
Cool drums, the high resonance riff is cool bubbling away, the one that starts with the drums right at the beginning. Gets a little repetitive though. You want to chop things up a bit more I think.
Hmm...only thing missing is a bit more of a hard hitting main bassline, low and rough, thats the way to do it!
Keep it up man.

super drumming

Dude, I'm really digging your drums in this one, they're damn cool!
The 'in your face' synth part kind of takes away from what the track could be though I think. I think you need something a bit more minimal or edgy?
Keep going!

DSMagnum responds:

Yeah, I'm not too sure on how to do much in Live yet, but I'm learning. I'll try to improve on the synth part, and hopefully I'll figure out how to add a bass while having drums and a lead at some point.

Thanks for the review!

cool

Sounding promising man, I look forward to the complete track! I really dig the lead sound you've got there, especially the rapid sequence at the end. Nice touch!

k-m-g responds:

thanks.

Sounds pretty classic, nice roll into the high lead. Good how the bass launches into a progression to suit the lead sound. Hmm..the lead sounds a little bit loud, no big deal, maybe some reverb to soften it up a bit.
Good work, its a cool little track, or a solid foundation for a longer track!

Jiao-Zhang responds:

lol. Thanks alot. I dont really want to make a full version of this track, I just got bored of it. lol. Thanks anyways.

cool

for your first drumloop, this is really good!
it sounds original, i've never heard snare timing like that. The next thing to do would be to work on adding new sections, and trying different basslines. keep it up!

cool!

Great amount of originality here. Again, I hear shades of Aphex with the subtle pad at the beginning. Nice epic feel with the intense section. Crunchy is the word, and it amps up really well into the next section. Its hectic, but it holds together really solidly.
Some interesting transitions, nice interplay between the arp sounds and that NES kind of tone that glides in is wicked. The plinky sound I think that the ped made reference to.
Really great song dude!
